Quiver tip
Quiver tip — A fine, interchangeable rod tip that bends visibly at the lightest bite, turning the rod itself into the bite indicator while the line stays taut to the feeder.
Casting weight
Casting weight — The band of total weight, typically the loaded feeder or lead, for which a rod's blank loads and releases cleanly on the cast, stated as a range rather than a hard breaking ceiling.
Blank action
Blank action — Where along a rod's blank the bend concentrates under load, from fast near the tip to slow through the midsection, deciding how much of the blank cushions a take versus how much stays stiff for casting.
Feeder rig
Feeder rig — The arrangement of feeder, line, hooklength and hook that holds bottom while the bait sits beside the feed, used when the feeder both delivers the groundbait and anchors the presentation.
Hooklength
Hooklength — A short, replaceable length of line carrying the hook and a swivel or loop, tied lighter than the main line so a snag breaks there and leaves the more expensive main line intact.
Terminal tackle
Terminal tackle — The consumable hardware at the business end of a rig — hooks, swivels, beads, clips and links — distinct from the rod and reel and from the main line itself.
Method feeder
Method feeder — A flat-based feeder whose groundbait is pressed onto a mould so it lands and holds as one tidy pile with the hook bait presented on top, aimed at still commercial-venue carp.
Cage feeder
Cage feeder — A mesh feeder that sheds groundbait progressively as it sinks and settles, building a trail fish follow in moving water instead of holding a single static pile.
Inline feeder
Inline feeder — A feeder threaded straight onto the main line so the whole rig stays in line on the cast and the strike travels directly to the hook, contrasting with a swivel-mounted feeder that hangs off the line.
Banded bait
Banded bait — Presenting a pellet or bait with a small elastic band around the hook shank so it survives the cast and drop, rather than being threaded or hooked directly on the point.
Quiver tip interchange
Quiver tip interchange — The practice of swapping the rod tip for a stiffer or finer one to match the tow and the fish, which changes the bite presentation without changing rod, reel or rig.
